I write this firmly planted in the taint of 2025. It’s new years eve.

I can hear my upstairs neighbour possibly masturbating. Successfully. Beneath, across from me my musical Korean neighbours must have a nephew over. The two boys have been playing a lot. I’m obscured by my wall of plants, many of which are recent additions - cuttings from my grandfmothers garden.

I got a new cutting this Christmas when I visited - a wee succulent. It’s plastic pot is sat inside a green ceramic one, awaiting transplant. Otherwise Christmas was quite certainly my most dire yet. I hadn’t bought any presents, I gave my grandmother a framed print of this photo:

I had a rather fruitful darkroom session recently - my dear friend Tom lent me his laundry shed,
along with a hefty roll of electrical tape to try and seal it up. I was sufficiently successful.

Immediatly after the gift exchange, I began to feel very hot, I then excused myself to be sick in the driveway, where I dozed off, exhauasted. My poor cousin Georgie came out and saw me, I gave her a fright. The next 12 hours was rinse and repeat, literally, back at the hotel. I only returned to the house the next day. Bummer, but also exactly what I needed. Family was tense this year. I’m grateful for the time either side of my illness.

Anyway, here’s another roll of HP5 shot over the last two weeks. Rated at 800, Pushed 1.5 Stops.

dang, december. lap-based computing has been made available to me. hopefully it will beget many multimedia ideas and prove a useful tool. it feels like theres a lot of power built in which i find useless, if intimidating. mostly a.i. junk. ChatGPT makes me feel dejected and bored. it will affirm everything you say, or crudely reinterpret something somebody else has said already. It is eroding curiosty and critical thinking en masse.
